If Chicago Hope Academy wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Saint Viator, they should've done a better job of containing Ava Garcia. The Saint Viator Lions secured a 45-40 W over Chicago Hope Academy on Thursday thanks to Garcia, who dropped a double-double with 19 points and 14 boards. She is becoming a predictor of Saint Viator's success: when she posts at least eight rebounds the team is undefeated (and 11-12 when she doesn't).

Another player making a difference was Ellen Denten, who posted seven points and nine boards. That's the most points she has posted since back in December of 2024.

Despite the loss, Chicago Hope Academy still got an impressive performance from Amoria Allen, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Janessa Centeno, who scored ten points.

Saint Viator's record now sits at 18-12. As for Chicago Hope Academy, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-9.

Saint Viator didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 51-12 loss against Marist on the 14th. As for Chicago Hope Academy, they will challenge Ogden International at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
