Basketball Recap: North Davidson Comes Up Short

North Davidson was the 42-41 winner over Central Davidson when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The North Davidson Black Knights received a blow on Friday as they fell 42-25 to the Central Davidson Spartans. The Black Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why North Davidson lost, don't look at Cali Cooper. Despite the final result, she posted 11 points in addition to six boards and three steals. The dominant performance also gave Cooper a new career-high in blocks (two). Emily Bauer also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Central Davidson got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Bethany Myers out in front who went 5 of 8 en route to 17 points. Myers has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Raegan McCarn, who scored 11 points.

North Davidson's defeat dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Central Davidson, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-7.

North Davidson has already played their next match, a 58-42 loss against Parkland on the 18th. As for Central Davidson, they will venture away from home to take on Northwest Cabarrus at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
