Basketball Game Preview: Oak Grove Classical Academy Owls vs. Jemez Valley Warrior

The Oak Grove Classical Academy Owls will venture away from home to square off against the Jemez Valley Warrior at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Oak Grove Classical Academy is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Cottonwood Classical Prep just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Saturday. They received a blow as they fell 68-54 to the Coyotes.

Meanwhile, Jemez Valley played a tough game on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against Monte Del Sol Charter, falling 63-34.

Oak Grove Classical Academy will have to keep a close watch on Justin Trujillo and Casen Chinana, a pair of players who had a big impact on Jemez Valley's prior game. Trujillo posted eight points, while Chinana earned seven points and three steals. Layton Romero also deserves some recognition as he scored his first points of the season.

Oak Grove Classical Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Jemez Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 1-10.

Everything came up roses for Oak Grove Classical Academy against Jemez Valley in their previous matchup back in February of 2025, as the team secured an 81-21 win. Will the Owls repeat their success, or do the Warrior have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
