Basketball Recap: Blake Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

Blake had won nine straight home games dating back to last season and Joe Philon did his part to make it ten on Tuesday. The Blake Yellow Jackets strolled past the Plant Panthers with points to spare, taking the game 57-41 thanks in part to Philon, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 15 rebounds. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 8.2 boards per game.

The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Mickens, who posted six points along with six assists and three steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played.

Blake is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.8 points per game. As for Plant, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-6.

Blake will take on Oak Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Blake knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Oak Ridge likes a good challenge. Plant does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
