Baseball Recap: Parkway Central's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Parkway Central can bid farewell to their seven-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the DeSoto Dragons, sneaking past 2-1. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Colts also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2024.

Parker Russell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on five hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Parkway Central is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-11 otherwise.

At the plate, Parkway Central saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Sasfai, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Parkway Central's win bumped their record up to 6-12. As for DeSoto, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Parkway Central will head out to face off against Hazelwood West at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for DeSoto, they will venture away from home to square off against Windsor at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
