Softball Recap: Brennan Takes a Loss

Brennan and Bowie squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Brennan had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 8-7. The loss continues a trend for the Bears in their meetings with the Bulldogs: they've now lost three in a row.

Olivia Cardenas made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That home run was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Leatherman, who went 1-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Brennan's defeat dropped their record down to 15-14. As for Bowie, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-12-1.

While Brennan had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
