Football Recap: Cameron Williams Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Prairie View

There's no place like home for Mountain Range, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They blew past the Prairie View Thunderhawks 28-6 on Friday. The Mustangs not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since September 20, 2024 (when they won 26-0).

Mountain Range's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cameron Williams, who rushed for 75 yards and one touchdown on only seven carries, and also threw for 113 yards and a pair of TDs. Jon Echelmeier was in the mix as well, providing the Mustangs with two scores.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Mountain Range was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 222 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 165 rushing yards in three consecutive contests.

Mountain Range's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece.

Mountain Range's win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 10.5 points on average over those games. As for Prairie View, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Mountain Range and Prairie View will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Mustangs will challenge rival Overland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Prairie View is set to take on their familiar foe Fairview at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
