San Marcos moved up to 565 from 605 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 5A Region IV District 25. The Rattlers were able to make move up by losing to Judson 32-15.

Smithson Valley extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Canyon, 35-3. The win marks eighth in a row for the the Rangers.

San Marcos' offense has been unstoppable this season and the Rattlers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Zack Sterling has thrown for 464 yards and three touchdowns this season, while Brandon Matlock has six catches for 196 yards. Jonoah Fabian leads the league in rushing with 609 yards.

A big matchup in 5A Region IV District 25 this week will be when New Braunfels takes on Smithson Valley. At the moment, the Unicorns are in fourth, while Larry Hill's team is in first.

The Rangers took down the Cougars 35-3 last week, the largest margin of any game.
