Volleyball Game Preview: Simla Cubs vs. Sedgwick County Cougars + Official Tickets

Simla has won 16 straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Sedgwick County has won 16 straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Saturday. The Cubs will welcome the Cougars at 1:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Saturday.

Simla won the last time they faced Monument Academy and Kinlee Cox did her part to make sure it happened again. The Cubs were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Lynx on Tuesday with plenty of help from Cox, who had 15 assists and 11 aces. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2.1 aces per game.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Simla took every set by at least 19 points. The final score came out to 25-2, 25-6, 25-3.

Simla found their leader in freshman Cox, who had 15 assists and 11 aces.

Simla was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 31 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Sedgwick County got the win against Haxtun on Friday by a conclusive 3-0.

Sedgwick County never let Haxtun on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 27-25, 25-13, 25-17.

Sedgwick County's victory bumped their record up to 17-5. As for Simla, their win bumped their record up to 20-2.

Simla beat Sedgwick County 3-1 in their previous matchup back in November of 2024. Will the Cubs repeat their success, or do the Cougars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
