Basketball Game Preview: Minneota Vikings vs. Yellow Medicine East Sting

Minneota is on a three-game streak of home losses, Yellow Medicine East an eight-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck will change on Friday. The Minneota Vikings will host the Yellow Medicine East Sting at 7:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Last Tuesday, Minneota ended up a good deal behind Tracy-Milroy-Balaton and lost 71-54. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 305th, while the Panthers are ranked 132nd).

Meanwhile, Yellow Medicine East lost to Canby at home by a 82-63 margin on Tuesday.

Yellow Medicine East's defeat dropped their record down to 2-20. As for Minneota, their loss dropped their record down to 7-12.

Everything came up roses for Minneota against Yellow Medicine East in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, as the team secured a 79-39 victory. Will Minneota repeat their success, or does Yellow Medicine East have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
