Softball Recap: Kearny Comes Up Short

Kearny made up a huge gap compared to their last game against High Tech SD, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Komets fell just short of the Storm by a score of 9-7 on Wednesday. The Komets have struggled against the Storm recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

S. Verastigue made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and fired off three triples and one run while going 4-for-4. She is on a roll when it comes to hits, as she's now got three or more in each of the last three games she's played. K Rivas was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs and two doubles.

Kearny's loss dropped their record down to 6-11. As for High Tech SD, they now have a winning record of 8-7.

Kearny wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, an 18-7 defeat against La Jolla on the 2nd. As for High Tech SD, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 20-3 loss against Lincoln on the 2nd.
