Volleyball Recap: Cardinal Newman's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Cardinal Newman entered their tilt with Seminole Ridge on Thursday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Hawks 3-0. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Crusaders also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2023.

Cardinal Newman was especially dominant in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-10, 29-27.

Ava Castro paced Cardinal Newman's offense, picking up 25 kills. Castro got some help from Dayana Acevedo and her 27 assists. Acevedo was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Cardinal Newman's win bumped their record up to 20-3. As for Seminole Ridge, they dropped their record down to 10-14 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Cardinal Newman has already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Somerset College Prep Academy on the 14th. As for Seminole Ridge, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Westwood on the 14th.
