Basketball Recap: Wood County Christian Takes a Loss

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 50-23, which was the final score in the Wood County Christian Wildcat's tilt against the Frontier Cougars on Saturday. The Wildcat have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Anna Bowersock continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Frontier, going 10 for 19 on her way to 21 points in addition to eight rebounds and four steals. Bowersock is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Willow Smitley, who posted eight points in addition to seven boards and three steals.

Wood County Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 1-2. As for Frontier, their win bumped their record up to 6-2.

Wood County Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Parkersburg Christian at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th. As for Frontier, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 58-45 victory against Shadyside on the 4th.
