Softball Game Preview: St. Scholastica Doves vs. Springfield Bulldogs

The St. Scholastica Doves will head out to take on the Springfield Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. St. Scholastica is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for St. Scholastica's offense. They lost 8-0 to Covington on Wednesday. Having soared to a lofty 20 runs in the game before, the Doves' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, Springfield fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Pearl River on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Rebels by a score of 10-9. The Bulldogs just can't catch a break and have now endured four losses in a row.

St. Scholastica now has a losing record of 9-10. As for Springfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-14.

St. Scholastica suffered a grim 15-5 defeat to Springfield in their previous meeting back in April of 2018. Can the Doves avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
