Softball Game Preview: Stanton Buffaloes vs. Crane Cranes

Stanton is 9-0-1 against Crane since February of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Buffaloes will host the Cranes at 5:00 p.m. Stanton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.8 runs per game this season.

Having struggled with four losses in a row, Stanton turned things around against Compass Academy on Saturday. They blew past Compass Academy 29-6. The Buffaloes' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

The team relied heavily on Alessandra Glover, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, seven RBI, and three runs. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Paisley Carby, who got on base in four of her six plate appearances with five runs, four RBI, and one double.

Stanton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They are 9-4-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Meanwhile, Crane was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 20th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against Denver City, falling 19-4.

Stanton's victory bumped their record up to 10-14-1. As for Crane, their loss dropped their record down to 0-16.

Everything went Stanton's way against Crane in their previous meeting back in March, as Stanton made off with a 20-4 win. Do the Buffaloes have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cranes turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
