Baseball Recap: Keansburg Extends Home Winning Streak to Nine

Keansburg entered their tilt with Keyport on Wednesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They came out on top against the Raiders by a score of 13-9. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 11-7 victory back in April.

Mikey Clayton made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over five innings while giving up four earned runs off five hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.

In other batting news, Shawn Retta was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Emmanuel Ramirez was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

Keansburg's victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Keyport, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-7.
