Basketball Recap: Addison Betker's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Racine Park over Kenosha Bradford

Racine Park lost against Kenosha Bradford back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Racine Park Panthers lost to the Kenosha Bradford Red Devils on the road by a 65-51 margin. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 217th, while the Red Devils are ranked 51st).

Racine Park's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Addison Betker, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and ten boards. Betker has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 14 times she's played. Myasia Bostick was another key player, dropping a double-double with 14 points and 15 rebounds.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Kenosha Bradford to victory, but perhaps none more so than Te'Lisha Brown, who posted five points along with seven boards and seven steals. Another player making a difference was Rihanna Barker, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds.

Racine Park dropped their record down to 10-13 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.7 points over those games. As for Kenosha Bradford, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 20-2.

Racine Park wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 64-58 loss against Kenosha Tremper on the 18th. As for Kenosha Bradford, they have also already played their next contest, a 46-30 win against Oak Creek on the 18th.
