Baseball Recap: Pinewood Prep Continues Home Dominance on Friday

Pinewood Prep pushed their score to 18 the last time they played Porter-Gaud, but on Friday they couldn't quite do it again. Pinewood Prep never let Porter-Gaud get on the board and left with a 3-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Cyclones: they've now won three in a row.

Porter-Gaud's batters probably weren't too happy with Max Poulakis, who pitched a no hitter (he gave up two walks). The dominant performance also gave Poulakis a new career-low in hits (zero).

On the hitting side, Pinewood Prep saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Grady Fuller, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Pinewood Prep's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.2 runs on average over those games. As for Porter-Gaud, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-4.

Coming up, Pinewood Prep will head out to square off against Trinity Collegiate at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Porter-Gaud, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Northwood Academy at 5:00 p.m. on April 7.
