Thornton has gone 10-0 against Thornridge recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Thornton Wildcats will host the Thornridge Falcons at 6:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Friday, Thornton was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 48-43 to Kankakee. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 281st, while the Kays are ranked 31st).

Despite the loss, Thornton saw an underclassman step up: freshman Deandre Higgs posted 16 points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jeremy Blanco-Rios, who scored four points and three steals.

Meanwhile, Thornridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They fell 57-50 to Crete-Monee.

Thornton has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season. As for Thornridge, their loss dropped their record down to 4-14.

Thornton beat Thornridge 62-53 in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Does Thornton have another victory up their sleeve, or will Thornridge turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
