Basketball Recap: Shenandoah's Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak on the Road

If Shenandoah was riding high fresh off their 65-37 takedown of Frontier last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Shenandoah Zeps'2024 ended with a 52-33 defeat against the Fort Frye Cadets on Monday. The Zeps' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Shenandoah lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Brenna Leach, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds. The matchup was Leach's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Kendal Snyder, who posted eight points and three steals.

Shenandoah's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-4. As for Fort Frye, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 9-1.

Shenandoah and Fort Frye should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. Shenandoah (ranked 223rd) will meet Barnesville (ranked 468th) at 7:00 p.m. on January 6th. Shenandoah is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.2 points per game this season. Similarly, Fort Frye (ranked 25th) will meet New Lexington (ranked 403rd) at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
