Basketball Game Preview: Millersburg Indians vs. Juniata Indians

Having just played yesterday, the Millersburg Indians will head out on the road to face off against the Juniata Indians at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Millersburg is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.8 points per game this season.

Millersburg is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Pequea Valley just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Wednesday. They took a 57-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Braves.

Chase Romberger put forth a good effort for the losing side as he went 7 for 10 en route to 14 points in addition to five rebounds and three blocks. Another player making a difference was Nolan Schreffler, who posted 12 points along with six boards and five assists.

Meanwhile, Juniata posted their biggest victory since December 10, 2024 on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 59-35 margin over Belleville Mennonite. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Indians just coasted through the last quarter.

Juniata has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.0 points per game. As for Millersburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-6.

Millersburg came up short against Juniata when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 52-47. Can Millersburg avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
