Baseball Recap: Fountain-Fort Carson Takes a Loss

Fountain-Fort Carson had lost three straight at home, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 9-10 to make it four. They came up short against the Pine Creek Eagles, falling 16-0. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Trojans were not able to get on the board.

As for Pine Creek, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by eight runs or more this season.

For Pine Creek's part, Aiden Wilson made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Wilson has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI and one triple.

In other batting news, Pine Creek let Tristan Mullis and Gavin Ust run wild. Mullis went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, three RBI, and one double, while Ust went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those four runs gave Mullis a new career-high. Aidyn Williams also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Pine Creek beat Fountain-Fort Carson by a score of 11-1 on Thursday.
