Soccer Game Preview: Wheeling vs. Conant

Wheeling hasn't had much luck against Conant recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Wildcats will take on the Cougars at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Wheeling's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. Everything went their way against North Chicago as they made off with a 4-0 win. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for Wheeling considering their one-goal performance the match before.

They hit North Chicago with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Allison Parada (2), Evelyn Simon, and Jenny Gonzalez.

Meanwhile, Conant's game on Tuesday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They beat Jacobs by a goal, winning 1-0. Vivian Brand had to tread lightly for part of the match after she was hit with a yellow card, but that was the only trouble Conant got from the refs.

Conant's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Wheeling, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Wheeling might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Conant when the teams last played back in May of 2025. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
