Recap: Burton Scorpions vs. Animo Watts Warriors
This season hasn't been kind to the Burton Scorpions , who are still winless after their fifth match. They had to suffer through a rough 100-8 loss at the hands of Animo Watts. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Burton has scored all season.
Johntae Forshae continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Animo Watts, dropping a double-double on 16 points and ten assists. Those 16 points set a new season-high mark for him. Brandon Betancourt was another key contributor, scoring 20 points along with three steals.
Burton's defeat was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-5. As for Animo Watts, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 3-3 record this season.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing WISH Academy the next time they take the court. Animo Watts will head out to face WISH Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Burton will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on January 9, 2024.
