Softball Game Preview: Soquel Knights vs. Scotts Valley Falcons

The Soquel Knights will challenge the Scotts Valley Falcons at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Soquel has given up an average of 10.3 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Soquel came up short against Aptos on Tuesday, falling 17-3. The loss continues a trend for the Knights in their meetings with the Mariners: they've now lost eight in a row.

Scotts Valley played against Santa Cruz on Tuesday and won via forfeit.

Scotts Valley's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-5-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Soquel, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.

Soquel might still be hurting after the 13-0 loss they got from Scotts Valley in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Knights avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
