Basketball Recap: Big Horn Rams vs. Rocky Mountain Grizzlies
Big Horn was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 51-44 to the Rocky Mountain Grizzlies. The Rams were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Grizzlies apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.
Despite the defeat, Big Horn saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Chase Garber dropped a double-double on 15 points and 14 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Garber a new career-high in steals (two). Another player making a difference was Bridger Doke, who posted nine points and six boards.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Rocky Mountain to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cole Minchow, who put up 24 points. Tucker Jackson was another key player, putting up six points in addition to six rebounds and five steals.
Big Horn's loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Rocky Mountain, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 8-9 record this season.
Coincidentally, both will both be playing Tongue River the next time they take the court. Big Horn will host Tongue River at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Rocky Mountain will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
