Football Recap: Edison Picks Up 15th Straight Win at Home

Edison had won 14 straight home games dating back to last season and Rakyia Louis did her part to make it 15 on Monday. The Edison Red Raiders took their game with ease, bagging a 42-0 victory over the Jackson Generals thanks in part to Louis, who threw for 302 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 11.6 yards per attempt. Louis is crushing it when it comes to passing touchdowns: she's passed for at least three every time she's taken the field this season.

Camille Canidate helped Louis out on the ground, picking up 93 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Canidate continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Edison's defense and their three sacks. In that department, Jennifer Burton was the leader with two. She also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with eight. Poetry Auguste got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Edison's win bumped their record up to 9-0. As for Jackson, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Coming up, Edison will face off against Northwestern at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Northwestern is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 34.8 points per game this season. As for Jackson, they will square off against Central at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Jackson has given up an average of 26.8 points per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week.
