Football Recap: Montabella Skates Past St. Charles with Ease

Montabella put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the St. Charles Bulldogs 54-6. That's more bragging rights for the Mustangs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Leading Montabella to victory were Gabriel Kauffman and Brady Kieff. Kauffman rushed for 57 yards and three scores, while Kieff rushed for 143 yards and one touchdown on only ten carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Montabella was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 281 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as St. Charles only rushed for 23 rushing yards.

When it comes to explaining why St. Charles lost, don't look at Elijah Alvarado. Despite the final result, he picked up 91 receiving yards and one TD.

Montabella's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for St. Charles, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, Montabella will head out on the road to square off against Potterville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for St. Charles, they will host Byron at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
