Basketball Recap: Dominic Guardini's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Muncy over Towanda

Muncy entered their contest against Towanda on Saturday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Indians took a 48-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Black Knights. The Indians were not able to make up for their loss to the Black Knights from their previous meeting back in December of 2024.

Muncy lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Dominic Guardini, who went 5-for-11 on his way to 15 points. That was a full 36.6% of Muncy's points, marking the third time in a row Guardini has posted more than a third of the team's points. Jaxton Frantz was another key player, putting up ten points.

Muncy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Towanda, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Muncy and Neumann Regional Academy will compete for holiday cheer at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Towanda, they will be home for the holidays to greet North Penn-Liberty at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
