Basketball Game Recap: Morehead Panthers vs. Walkertown Wolfpack

If Walkertown wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Morehead, they should've done a better job of containing Destiny Minter. The Morehead Panthers were the clear victor by a 64-43 margin over the Walkertown Wolfpack on Friday thanks in part to Minter, who posted 24 points in addition to seven boards and four steals. That makes it 12 consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Morehead's points.

Another player making a difference was Anahi Morales, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points.

The win was their first at home , bumping their record up to 3-15. As for Walkertown, they are on a 29-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Morehead will host Reidsville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Walkertown, they will take on T.W. Andrews at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. T.W. Andrews will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Walkertown surely won't give up without a fight.
