Soccer Game Preview: Dalton vs. Coahulla Creek

The Dalton Catamounts will take on the Coahulla Creek Colts at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Dalton will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more goals each game than the last.

Last Tuesday, Dalton got the win against Cass by a conclusive 10-1. Considering Dalton have won six contests by more than three goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Coahulla Creek waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They never let the Mountaineers get on the board and left with a 2-0 win. Given Coahulla Creek's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 152nd, while North Murray are ranked 375th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Dalton is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 48 goals over those eight contests. Coahulla Creek pushed their record up to 11-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Everything went Dalton's way against Coahulla Creek in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, as Dalton made off with a 10-0 victory. Does Dalton have another victory up their sleeve, or will Coahulla Creek turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
