Basketball Game Preview: Blacklick Valley Vikings vs. Shanksville Stonycreek Vikings

The Blacklick Valley Vikings will take on the Shanksville Stonycreek Vikings at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Monday, Blacklick Valley came up short against Northern Cambria and fell 47-39. The defeat continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Colts: they've now lost six in a row.

Despite the loss, Blacklick Valley saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Eli Sheesley went 6 for 8 en route to 18 points. Another player making a difference was Drew Gdula, who posted seven points.

Meanwhile, Shanksville Stonycreek was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 50-44 to Meyersdale.

Shanksville Stonycreek has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season. As for Blacklick Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-10.
