Volleyball Recap: Averie Russell Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Madison

Hendersonville won the last time they faced Madison and things went their way on Thursday too. The Bearcats put the hurt on the Patriots with a sharp 3-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bearcats.

While Hendersonville won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-15, 25-16.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hendersonville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Averie Russell, who had 17 digs. Russell is crushing it when it comes to digs: she's had at least ten every time she's taken the court this season.

Hendersonville was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 15 aces. They are a perfect 3-0 when they serve at least ten aces.

Hendersonville's record is now 6-4. As for Madison, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hendersonville will take on Owen at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Madison, they will square off against Erwin at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
