Football Recap: North Garland Comes Up Short

North Garland lost against Sachse back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Raiders lost 35-10 to the Mustangs. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 693rd, while the Mustangs are ranked 299th).

Even if they lost, North Garland's defensive line still kept up the pressure with four sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece.

Sachse's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dirk Williams Jr., who rushed for 116 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries. Those 116 rushing yards gave Williams Jr. a new career-high. Roderick Rainwater was in the mix as well, providing Sachse with two TDs.

North Garland's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Sachse, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Coincidentally, North Garland and Sachse will both be playing South Garland the next time they take the field. The Raiders will host the Titans at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th, while the Mustangs will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th.
