Softball Game Preview: Archbishop Hoban Knights vs. Avon Eagles

The Archbishop Hoban Knights will take on the Avon Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Archbishop Hoban 2.8, Avon 3.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.

On Thursday, Archbishop Hoban got the win against Beaumont School by a conclusive 19-1. The Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by eight runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, Avon posted their closest win since April 2nd on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out Midview 4-2.

Archbishop Hoban is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Avon, they pushed their record up to 9-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home.
