Football Recap: Miami Trace Beats Batavia for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Miami Trace had won three straight games and Julian Baker did his part to make it four on Friday. The Panthers enjoyed a cozy 34-16 victory over the Batavia Bulldogs with plenty of help from Baker, who rushed for 226 yards and four TDs while picking up 8.7 yards per carry. His rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 109 rushing yards dating back to last season.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Miami Trace's defense and their three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Tyler Stevens, Cooper Enochs, and Gage Henry, who each picked up one sack apiece.

Miami Trace's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Batavia, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Miami Trace will take on Western Brown at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Batavia, they will face off against Bethel-Tate at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs will be up against the Tigers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 41.5 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
