Manti's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Emery Spartans, sneaking past 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Templars have posted since August 19th.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Manti got the one that really mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 18-25, 25-23, 25-27, 16-14.

Addison Howell paced Manti's offense, picking up 20 kills. Howell got some help from Charlotte Chase and her 34 assists. Howell was also solid from the service line: she led the team with seven aces.

When it comes to explaining why Emery lost, don't look at Kota Orgill. Despite the final result, she had 14 digs and two aces. Candice Morrill also deserves some recognition as she had her first dig of the season.

Manti's win bumped their record up to 6-11. As for Emery, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season.

Manti wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Providence Hall on the 3rd. Emery has also already played their next match (against Union), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
