Basketball Recap: AJ Patterson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Bendle over New Standard Academy + How To Watch

Bendle was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 78-70 hit to the loss column at the hands of the New Standard Academy Spartans. The Tigers were not able to make up for their loss to the Spartans from their previous meeting back in February.

Bendle's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was AJ Patterson, who shot 73% from the field en route to 21 points and five rebounds. With that strong performance, Patterson is now averaging an impressive 17.5 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Bingham, who went 8-for-13 to rack up 19 points and five assists.

Bendle's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for New Standard Academy, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Bendle and New Standard Academy will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Tigers are set to face off against their familiar foe Hamady at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, New Standard Academy will take on rival Phoenix at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
