Basketball Recap: Nelson Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Nelson entered their tilt with Sandy on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They took down the Pioneers 71-53. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Nelson's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 14th, while Sandy is ranked 123rd).

Nelson's win bumped their record up to 14-6. As for Sandy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Nelson will take on rival Barlow at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Sandy is set to face off against their familiar foe David Douglas at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
