Baseball Recap: Syracuse Find Success

Syracuse won the last time they faced Farmington and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Titans narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Phoenix 4-2. That's two games straight that the Titans have won by exactly two runs.

Calder Millard spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on six hits. Syracuse is 2-1 when Millard allows two or fewer earned runs, but 3-9 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Syracuse saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caleb Wilson, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run.

Syracuse's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-10. As for Farmington, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-14.

Syracuse will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Phoenix: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
