Recap: Butte Valley Bulldogs vs. Hayfork Timberjacks
After flying high against the Princeton Eagles last Friday, The Butte Valley Bulldogs came back down to earth. Butte Valley was beaten by Hayfork 64-17 on Friday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Butte Valley in their matchups with Hayfork: they've now lost four in a row.
Levi Cavalli continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Hayfork, rushing for 400 yards and eight touchdowns while picking up 23.5 yards per carry. Cavalli's longest rush was for an incredible 88 yards. Another player making a difference was Anthony Bonelli, who rushed for 162 yards while picking up 10.1 yards per carry.
Butte Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Hayfork, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 9-0.
Butte Valley will face off against Dunsmuir at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Hayfork, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Princeton at 6:00 p.m. Princeton will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 100th, while Hayfork is ranked 13th).
