Softball Recap: Casa Grande's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Casa Grande entered their tilt with Vintage on Tuesday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Crushers. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Gauchos also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

Lila Partridge spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on two hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Abby McSweeney was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three doubles, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024.

Casa Grande pushed their record up to 8-3-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Vintage, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-3.

Coming up, Casa Grande will square off against College Park at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday. As for Vintage, they will take on American Canyon at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
