Soccer Recap: Chatham Has No Trouble Against Altavista

The matchup between Chatham and Altavista on Wednesday hardly resembled the 2-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Cavaliers put the hurt on the Colonels with a sharp 10-2 win. The result was nothing new for Chatham, who have now won eight matches by four goals or more so far this season.

Their offense was hitting Altavista from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Delaney Haymore led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for five goals all by herself.

The victory made it two in a row for Chatham and bumps their season record up to 8-0-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 19 goals over those two games. As for Altavista, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8-2 record this season.
