Baseball Recap: East Stroudsburg South Gets the Win

East Stroudsburg South hadn't done well against Pocono Mountain East recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Cavaliers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 victory over the Cardinals. The game was the first time the Cavaliers have beaten the Cardinals on their field since May 3, 2019.

East Stroudsburg South got a great performance from Liam Huffman as he tossed six innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off three hits. Huffman has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Alex Perez was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Aaron Kasperski also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

East Stroudsburg South now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Pocono Mountain East, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-2.

East Stroudsburg South didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 14-4 win against Bangor on the 3rd. As for Pocono Mountain East, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 9-5 loss against Easton Area on the 4th.
