Baseball Recap: Sayreville Comes Up Short

Sayreville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-0 heartbreaker at the hands of the Immaculata Spartans.

Sayreville's loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Immaculata, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sayreville will host Kennedy Memorial at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Mustangs' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Bombers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Immaculata, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Warren Hills Regional at 4:00 p.m.
