Softball Recap: South Harrison Has No Trouble Against Braxton County

South Harrison had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt Braxton County on Wednesday. The Hawks put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 8-2 win. That looming 8-2 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Hawks yet this season.

Ava Louk made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in May of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-5 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Riley Myers, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Emily Squires was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

South Harrison kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 2-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

South Harrison's record now sits at 3-8. As for Braxton County, their defeat was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-13.
