Soccer Game Preview: Pen Argyl vs. Northern Lehigh

The Pen Argyl Green Knights will take on the Northern Lehigh Bulldogs at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Pen Argyl's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Pen Argyl turned things around against Salisbury Township on Thursday. They never let the Falcons get on the board and left with a 1-0 win. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but Pen Argyl were the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Northern Lehigh's offense. They lost 5-0 to Palisades on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Northern Lehigh can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania soccer rankings (they are ranked 364th, while Palisades are ranked 107th).

Northern Lehigh's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Pen Argyl, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 2-4.

Pen Argyl might still be hurting after the 6-1 defeat they got from Northern Lehigh when the teams last played back in September of 2024. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Green Knights were down 4-1.
