Baseball Recap: Putnam Science Academy Comes Up Short in High-Profile Matchup with Cheshire Academy

Putnam Science Academy faced Cheshire Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. Putnam Science Academy fell just short of Cheshire Academy by a score of 5-4. Putnam Science Academy was not able to make up for their loss to Cheshire Academy from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Putnam Science Academy's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-8. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only 5.75 runs. As for Cheshire Academy, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 19-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Putnam Science Academy will face off against Avon Old Farms at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cheshire Academy, they will square off against Frederick Gunn at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
