Basketball Recap: Kearney Catholic Piles Up the Points Against Ravenna

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Kearney Catholic). They breezed by the Ravenna Bluejays to the tune of 65-33 on Tuesday. With that win, the Stars brought their scoring average up to 51 points per game.

Oliver Sharp was his usual excellent self, putting up 22 points and eight rebounds. Those 22 points gave him a new career-high. Jacob Bosshamer was another key player, posting 14 points and three steals.

Kearney Catholic was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive matches.

The victory got Kearney Catholic back to even at 2-2. As for Ravenna, their defeat was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-4.

Kearney Catholic will take on McCook in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Kearney Catholic has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Ravenna, it'll be Battle of the Birds when the Ravenna Bluejays challenge the Southern Valley Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ravenna is facing Southern Valley at the right time seeing as Southern Valley is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
