Baseball Recap: Gaffney Takes a Loss

Gaffney was the 6-3 winner over Spartanburg when they last played one another last Tuesday, but their luck changed this time around. The Indians took an 11-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Vikings on Wednesday.

Sylas Gilfillan was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Gage McDaniel was another key player, going 1-for-2 with four RBI and one double.

Gaffney dropped their record down to 6-9 with the loss, which was their seventh straight on the road. As for Spartanburg, their record is now 7-8.

While Gaffney had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
